In order for 4×4 Response Wales to fulfil its role and provide a useful service to its various partners and clients it is essential that sufficient volunteers are recruited and trained. Owners of all 4×4 vehicles, from Fiat Pandas to Land Rover Defenders, from Ford Kugas to Toyota Landcruisers, are urged to join us.

Although the Group does need owner-drivers of 4×4 vehicles, there are other roles within the Group for non-vehicle owning/driving volunteers.

Such roles include:

• Navigation and vehicle driver support
• Regional co-ordination and control
• Blue Light/EPO Liaison
• Administration
• Fundraising
• Training and assessment

All volunteers undergo a basic assessment before being deployed but are then offered training to enhance skills in driving, first aid, vehicle recovery and a wide range of other topics.
